Field Support Engineer, 4G/5G Base Station

    The telecommunications business of Airbus in Finland is looking for an experienced 4G/5G Base Station Field Support Engineer to join our Field Support team in Helsinki.

    We are developing and maintaining complete telecom solutions for our worldwide customers. With us you have the opportunity to use these systems in our laboratories for end-to-end troubleshooting. The future of public safety networks is broadband 4G/5G, and we are looking to strengthen our team to implement both the new public safety networks but also extend current TETRA networks into hybrid networks.

    Your tasks and responsibilities:

    As a Field Support Engineer your tasks will be integration and troubleshooting of complex telecommunication systems, with focus on 4G/5G base stations, as well as Airbus TETRA base stations TB4 and TB3. As part of our team you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and on-site support to our customers and our local engineers worldwide and act as a point of contact for queries and support from our areas, resolve complex faults and analyze their impact. You may be asked to participate in development or testing of the new and updated versions of our products.

    Your role includes extensive travel to especially, but not limited to, Europe and the Middle East.

    What we expect:

    • A degree in Telecommunications or related fields

    • Competence in radio frequency (RF) engineering, base stations and troubleshooting, including radio frequency measurements

    • Positive attitude to work in demanding and time constrained customer projects

    • Good spoken and written English skills

    Skills in following technologies are especially useful:

    • Nokia AirScale base stations

    • Antenna and feeder line systems and their measurements

    • RF- signal propagation, interferences and suppressing interferences

    • TETRA system and its properties

    • AC and DC power supply systems including high-capacity battery systems

    • Antenna mechanical installations, mast and tower structures

    • Optical fibers and cables and their properties

    We also appreciate if you have experience in:

    • LTE EPC, for example, from Nokia, Athonet, or Ericsson

    • Linux and virtualization (especially RedHat and VMware)

    • IP protocols and networking, including IPSec

    The position is permanent and will start as agreed.
