Linux Virtualisation System Engineer

    The telecommunications division of Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Linux Virtualisation System Engineer to join our Customer Maintenance team in Helsinki. 

    As a part of continuous product development, we are virtualizing our telecom network elements to run in high availability COTS servers and in virtualized environments. To provide our customers the support for these products needed, we are looking for a new colleague to join our team. We are developing and maintaining complete telecom solutions for our worldwide customers, so with us you have the opportunity to use these systems in our laboratories for end-to-end troubleshooting.

    Your responsibilities

    Your tasks will be troubleshooting and root cause exploration of RH virtualizations system for a complex telecommunication system based on the TETRA standard. As part of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to our customers and our local engineers worldwide and act as a point of contact for queries and support from our areas, investigate and analyze complex faults and evaluate their impact. You will also discuss the then needed changes with your peers in R&D.

    What we expect from you

    We expect you to have a technical degree in computer science, telecommunications or related fields, knowledge in server technology and virtualization as well as hands-on experience in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Alma Linux). Good spoken and written English language skills are mandatory.

    We also appreciate if you have experience in:

    • WMware virtualization
    • IT solution architecture
    • IP protocol, networking and backhauling (VoIP, Mobile IP, VLAN, VPN, OSPF, VxLAN)
    • Security for IT network and applications (PKI, Authentication, end-to-end encryption, Firewall, Proxy, IPsec, SSL, vulnerability)
    • RH satellite, Configuration control and Scripting (Python, Ansible,…)
    • Test Automation (Robot Framework)
    • HPE Server Platform products (OneView, ArcSight,...)
    • Modern high availability systems and platforms, RH clustering, redundancy including geo-redundancy and load distribution.

    The position requires security clearance approval from Finnish authorities.
