Airbus is looking for a Test Engineer Trainee to join our IV&V team in our Helsinki office. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for testing and aspiring to become a test engineer in the future. As a trainee, you will be actively involved in all testing aspects e.g. product/system testing such as function testing, system testing, performance and regression testing. You will also assist in finding defects, reporting and verifying the defect fixes. You will interact and work with our software development engineers responsible for developing our system.

Our testing team works together supporting each other so you will be included in the team right from the start. The team includes employees from trainees to senior test engineers, so you will get the chance to learn from your peers as well as from more experienced members of the team.

What we expect of you

You are currently studying for a technical degree, preferably in software development or information technology. Airbus is committed to offering students meaningful work experience in the early stages of their career so please note that our trainees need to have a student status throughout their employment. As for the technical skills, we would like you to have the following skills:

• Basic knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies

• Knowledge and initial experience with agile development methods

• Have the ability and eagerness to pick up new skills quickly

• Good planning and documentation skills

• Good organizational skills and detail-oriented mindset

• Good technical and analytical abilities to support problem-solving

• Basic understanding of Linux/Windows and virtualization

Since you will be working in a multicultural environment we are expecting you to have good team working skills, as well as the ability to work independently. A reasonable knowledge of the English language is a prerequisite. Other languages are seen as an advantage.

The trainee period will start as agreed and lasts until September 2024 at least. The position is full-time during the summer months (5/2024 - 8/2024) and part-time (2-3 days a week) during other times.

The position requires basic security clearance conducted by Finnish Security and Intelligence Service (Supo).
