EDR - nationwide public safety network in Hungary

A large number of public safety agencies benefit from sharing the TETRA communication network in Hungary. Organisations using the Hungarian TETRA network are:

Project completed in record time

Project overview

The nationwide roll-out of the Hungarian TETRA network was completed in one year and one day. This was a great achievement which also had a favourable effect on the network implementation costs.

The Hungarian network EDR in numbers:

  • 4 switches
  • 270 TETRA base stations (380-400 MHz)
  • 42 000 radios
  • Secures 10,000,000 citizens

The project was started in 2006 and completed in 2007. The year 2013 saw the start of the modernization project for the EDR network.

More recently, the Hungarian government revealed the second upgrade phase for the EDR network.
