Tactilon Agnet continues to be a hot topic and people are really interested in it. No wonder! The app lets people vital to an operation to be connected easily and securely, even when they are using different devices or even different technologies in a hybrid environment.

It took me some time to learn the important facts about it, and here's the summary of my findings - I hope you will find this helpful!

Who is it for?

The first thing I learned was the basic explanation - Tactilon Agnet allows smartphones to use TETRA group communications. Okay - but couldn’t people just use TETRA radios?

Well, yes they could - but what if they don’t have a radio? Before Tactilon Agnet, there was no convenient way for someone using a mobile phone to communicate in a TETRA group. It was possible in theory, but it was not really practical.

Enter Tactilon Agnet. If you have the app in your smartphone, you can talk to your TETRA groups with one press of a button. It’s really easy! You can also send text messages to your groups.

How is Tactilon Agnet used?

For example, a high ranking police officer may choose to carry only a smartphone. With this app, they can still take part in communications about an operation.

On the other hand, a doctor may not need TETRA talk groups very often. But he or she may need them sometimes when on call. For this, they need only a smartphone and the Tactilon Agnet app. Then there is the missing person case. Volunteers involved in a search can use their smartphones and this app lets them take part in important TETRA group communications.

Because this professional app is easy to use and does not require special equipment – just the smartphone - new kinds of users can start cooperating with established groups.

Of course, there is control. Tactilon Agnet encrypts sensitive data and there are special security measures in place, for example, to prevent the Tactilon Agnet application being run in rooted devices.

The best of two worlds

I can see how this app combines the best of two worlds - TETRA and smartphones – to bring TETRA group communication to new users, but there’s also more. Smart devices can deal with richer data, and there’s also the chance to use the data in professional operations. People get real-life experience, and based on that, organisations can develop new ways of working and planning.
